According to Forbes, the bill to approve offshore gambling has been approved in one committee but it is lacking votes from two more house committees. Once the bill is fully approved, a special committee will be created to regulate all forms of gambling.
Hawaii residents have expressed some very serious concerns in regards to gambling and are worried that allowing the creation of casinos on their islands will lead to certain undesirable behaviour. According to MSNBC, “The populace here loves to gamble. Hawaii by nature is a gambling community,” says a resident.
